Thanks Stream... Im not too nervouse with removing panels, carpeting and trim, but the electric stuff (fuses and shiatt, make me weary).

As you can see from my install instructions, this is not rocket science --I'm no electrician and was able to figure out how to do it --now you just have to follow my instructions. It's so much cleaner than having the adapter plugged into the cigarette lighter.

I use Photoshop to resize. I believe you can also use MS Paint which comes installed with Windows. I'd be happy to resize them for you.

Ok, here are my pics (thanks to Stream).

There is a piece that attaches to the center console trim that is not visible unless you remove the trim. To get the dock to git there, I removed that piece. It simply unscrews. My ideal install would be to sit the dock low enough in the same spot that it could be covered with the ashtray. This wont work without a lot of cutting. Too scared for that.

I am thinking of centering the iPod, but I need to come up with a way to still allow easy access to the 12v outlet.

I am very happy with the install... I just need to hardwire the charger...

Also, the dock is secured with black velcro (unseen) so no problem with it sliding around. And once I noticed you could see some cabling behind the dock, I readjusted... No wires visible now!

OK.... just finished hard wiring my Valentine 1.

Only took about 30 minutes.... thanks to the DIY on this forum.

Next step is that iPod dock in the ashtray, and hard wiring it.

I recently had the Aux Input installed, for use with my iPod.

I purchased an iPod cradle mount which plugs into the Cigarette lighter.

DLO TransPod Direct

This cradle charges the iPod during use, and lets me use the iPod Line Output from the bottom, rather than the headphone jack on top.? This bypasses the internal headphone amp of the iPod, giving better sound quality.

However, when the cradle is plugged into the cigarette lighter, I'm getting very bad alternator noise.? I tried hooking up a ground loop isolator between the iPod and the AUX Input, but this did not help.

Anyone else have noise problems with their E60 and iPod?? If so, did you fix it, and how?

Has anyone tried the SendStation PocketDock with line out?

If you don't want the power source it would seem to be a nice way to get the line out.
