Aftermarket Nav System

For those trying to hook up a rear cam and have PDC will this work side-by-side or will the cam basically take over the visual PDC some have on their iDrive?
Sorry if this is question is pushing the topic off in another direction.

Not sure about the xcarlink adapter because I haven't tried it, but the modmynav one seems to display the PDC screen in a corner over the camera view.

Which NAV app are you using on your iPhone? Which iPhone mount are you using? I couldn't hear very well, but I assume audio comes through good - does it use the audio input in the console? How do you switch back and forth to standard idrive? Can you play the cards radio while viewing video from the iPhone? I currently don't have NAV or CD Changer, I assume this still works in my situation?

The unit comes with a built in FM modulator through which it outputs the sounds if you don't have AUX in, if you do have it you can just use that.
The interface works by "taking over" the screen and outputting anything that is connected to the composite video inputs and yes you can have car radio/CD playing in the background while watching video.
The video feed changes when you hold down the iDrive menu button for >1 second.
All cables come with it but I was getting this error about battery, have checked with the makers and was told to change one cable (power cable of the multimedia adapter) on the supplied harness from pin 15 to pin 13 and that has fixed it. Easy to do, just snip and attach cable with a scothlock on the harness then install into car. No modification of car's cables, see my thread here for details: https://5series.net/forums/topic/120...1#entry1413711
