Tried fitting an aftermarket nav system to my E46 a while back, and promptly sent it back as it was totally mickey mouse. Just bought an E61, and would love to fit nav. Has anyone seen or tried these.....

I'm dubious after my last foray into aftermarket GPS, but this can be had on ebay for £350 and that's a LOT cheaper than OEM retrofit. I suspect the experience is also a lot 'cheaper' though.

Garmin did have a high-end NAV system that was HDD based, but it had to be professionally installed. Not sure if it would work on a E60 though.

Why not install multimedia adapter and connect your iPhone gps to the iDrive monitor like me:

Video taken with camera hence bad sound/video quality.

Ebay. Xcarlink or idrive multimedia adapter. Just make sure your iPhone is jailbroken though or else the only thing it will display is videos/photos.
modmynav.com also do one but it's a bit more expensive.
You need a jailbroken app "TVout2 mirror TV out" to display everything from the phone.

How to you install the multimedia adapter?
How much? What is involved?
Does it require programming?
Thanks!
