Remember mate, by doing the programming you'll need LCM and you'll need to do the who BMW retrofit wiring including the rear lights

For your reference and if you decide on a purchase, Realoem.com has the LCM (BMW # 63 12 7 189 312) for USD $119.88 per side.
Sounds like you got it covered d4rkchocolate. I made an error in my earlier post. BMW # 63 12 7 189 312 is not for the LCM but for the AHL (Adaptive Headlight) motors/driver that may be needed depending on the headlight configuration you bought. The LCM is BMW # 61 35 9 154 944.

d4rkchocolate,
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get them and how much were they? I still haven't committed to the headlight purchase as yet but I'm about to do so in the coming days.

.. also the same packs are on my pre lci lights too
From what I've read and others experiences with this, although the Adaptive Light Control modules can be removed from our pre-LCI headlights and installed on the LCI headlights, and although the part number is the same; those who have done this have encountered problems afterwords with the ALC. (Blinking green LED on the light switch when set in the Auto position). Not sure if this is as a result of improper re-coding or otherwise. From what I understand, not just the LCM has to be re-coded but also the ALC's.

I have a lot of faith in Patryk, if this is something that can be solved through coding, Patryk will certainly be capable.

Its funny you say that lol, when i fitted the LCI headlamps in, the green light was ok didnt flash, but my AHL dont work so found it bizzare, so what i did was take the packs out of my pre lci( it had the same P/N) and fitted it to my LCI, and then i got the green flashing light, so i swapped them back, and the light was back to normal. really strange.

i reeeeeeeeeeeally wanted to find a short cut to this mod, but from the advice ive received from EVERYONE on this forum, is to get the Light Control Module, and do the full retrofit. only problem is i now need to source one, and also find the looms for the rear, i was hoping for a quick temporay fix that would at least give me my angels by adding a resister or something......but noones succesfully done it on a PRE XENON TO LCI BI XENON

Hi to the headlights gurus,

Although my problem is slightly different I'd like to use this post, because its quite close content-wise.

I drive a B5 built 09/2006 but already as pre-series LCI with OEM Bi-Xenon delivered to Alpina directly as company car.

On Sunday I tried to install AHL in my car with a friend - but unfortunately "dynamic function" doesn't work.
Based on DIS the stepper motor in both headlights don't receive signal information.
My friend is very experienced in LCI conversion and coding and did the mod several times successfully.
So we started failure search - 8 hours.
- We read through BMW instruction for AHL retrofit and checked WDS for hints several times.
- We crosschecked that LM2 and headlights are working in his BMW to exclude defective parts. And there they worked fine.
- We also checked Pin connection from headlight connector to LM2 at his BMW - but it was the same.
(Left headlight connector to LM2: pin 9 to 38; 10 to 75 and 11 to ground)
- We started disconnecting single cables to narrow down the problem.
And in fact we could remove 4 wires at headlight connector (pin6, pin9, pin10 and pin11) without loosing a function despite the "moving" beams.

So something is different with the wiring in my car.
As said - we checked WDS to find my OEM wiring - but we didn't find it.
I assume the problem is that my car is built 09/2006 but as pre-series LCI and therefore has no standard wiring - neither real pre-LCI nor real LCI.
1 Example: in my OEM (bi-xenon w/o AHL) headlight connector pin 6 is empty but my high beams are working.
Based on WDS should pin6 steer them. So why they work?

This (my) wiring of right HL connector we didn't find in any WDS diagram for bi-xenon.

Now I'm looking for a wiring diagram for headlight connector and LM specific to the wiring of my car to identify a solution to my problem.
Can somebody send me a wiring diagram for my OEM wiring between HL and LM?
Does somebody have/had this weird wiring too - but with AHL?
Does somebody have a clue what is wrong at the moment?

For info: My VIN is CT95011.

I appreciate any help to identify a solution.

Matt
