ACM screen takes over iDrive screen, so there is no more mini windown on the right
Fred please explain to me, what happens when a hybrid TV tuner (analog/digital) is already installed on the car. Is it possible to have them both (OEM TV Tuner and ACM) installed and functionable??

Nick,
What is hybrid TV tuner? How does it work?
If I know how it works, I can do some educated guess

It looks similar to the standard (analog) OEM TV tuner that is installed behind the left cover in the trunk, on the TV equipped cars.

Nick, i myself have oem hybrid tv on my car, and i've been using gnet interface with 'most integration' (i don't know what that means... ) which actually does switching screens via idrive slide...so, basically it doesn't have anything to do with the interface...but, from my understanding and from pictures shown by fred, i suspect that everything will integrate in the acm menu...fred, when you go to entertainment, is there a menu shown on the acm? or, does it pop up via special command e.g. press menu for 3 seconds, slide idrive knob towards the left corner etc...?

So it does work (i.e DVD player will play) when car is in motion ? Sweeet!!!
I called in couple BMW independent Techs, they said they wont install it lol..
If it only it could take VGA, that would be awesome!! You can then hook up CARPC, play DVDs, play DVD-mp3s, Have good navigation software like iguidance /tomtom etc etc.. endless possibilities.

Because it's not worth 1.75hr for that damn task and risking themselves spending more times more diagnosing problem which won't be paid.
Best place is bring it to dealer and ask them to do it in 1.75 hour, and let us what they say. I like doing it myself because SOME techs at BMW dealers does not care for your car during installation.

Here are a few pic during surgery. This involves a lot and that's why tech does not like it

besides, trims under steering wheel, driver's footwell, side trim from driver down to rear seats need to be removed.
