MRV99- point taken about the larger rolling diameter and speedometer inaccuracy.
I often refer to my Sat Nav for speed as it has a built in speed camera detector and alarms.

I purchased some Eibach Pro springs (only a 1.2" drop) and just wondering since you have real world experience with this wheel/tire combo if you thougth it would work. Thanks - Josh
of coarse u can drop it with that setup. if u can see a gap between the fender and the tire theres plenty of room to go down. these cars get pretty slammed if ur into getting super low. the only issue i came across was lowering the front to much the inner wheel hit the strut. but thats a 9.5 inch front rim. if u have something less wide it prolly would clear fine. but thats only if u plan on dropping more then 2 inchs

Looks awesome, really! I loved my 19"s bu I switched to 18"s because I didn't like the harsh ride on awesome looking 19"s 35 front, 30 rear.

Three questions:

- On 40 front, 35 rear, how much of added comfort are you feeling compared to stock spec. 35/30? Is it rally that big of a difference? How would you compare to 18"s?
- I have factory lowered suspension by about 1 inch. How much space is around the tyres? Do you think it could rub?
- Totally offtopic, how is the ride on winter 16"s? it must feel very unstable, but is it comfy?

Thank you.

Kreveta

to answer your questions

-the comfort is about the same as 18" alloys (after all the the tyre height is the same as OEM tyres on 18" alloys- 40/35s), and a big improvement over the stock 19" tyres (35/30s)- you will notice a difference- obviously use non-run flats

-there appears to be atleast 2 cm clearance - but I am using 1.2mm spacers in the rear. Without spacers, you should have better clearance- but I am no expert on such matters

-16" are great in the snow as they are wrapped with winter 245 width tyres. Great grip. With regards to handling- the are no instability issues, however there is slight body roll/lean on hard cornering, but this could be because of my winter tyres on a dry surface. Of course the ride comfort is absoloutely superb on such small rims and tall tyres. They soak up bumps really well! I ride on 245/50/16 all round.

regards

Kaz

Honestly, I believe those are some of the worst looking BMW wheels.

Thats just my opinion though. They don't look too bad tho on your car. A huge upgrade from what you had on there.

It's a lot better than those stock 16's but it's not my cup of tea either.
