Been riding on 16" alloys during winter. Now that the weather has improved in the UK, I put on 19" 6 series OEM on my car because I wanted a better ride than my previous e60 19" alloys on non-run flats 245/35/19 and 275/30/19.
These 6 series wheels have larger tyres 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 than the our 19" 5 series.

I have put 12mm spacers on the rears to give it a more aggressive look and left the fronts without spacers as the rim fills out the arch and sits flush with the fender.
I was unsure as whether they would fit as I have seen some e60's with 6 series rims and the smaller size tyres.

After a 100 mile round trip, I am happy to report there are no issues with rubbing and the ride comfort is a massive improvement.

If people are loving their 19" rims but not the harsh ride quality, why not go up a tyre size...you wont turn back. Any comments on this?

I appreciate these wheels are not to everyones taste, but I love them...not too loud but understated. What do you all think?
BTW I happen to like the chrome look before the anti-chrome brigade start commenting!

I'm in the UK and still riding on my 16" winter wheels as last couple of years there's been snowfall here and there all the way up to April. Just to help me decide when to switch for me, what made you decide to switch at this point? Or are you planning to switch back over if/once the snow starts again?

 

I may regret this premature change, but I will change it back to the winter set-up should the chill return. I recall last year February was a snowy one.
I have just purchased these wheels, and the child in me could not wait to put them on, beside I thought there might be fittment issues and therefore would need to arrange a refund/return if that had been the case.

wow I just started a thread asking about this exact wheel size/tire combo, glad to know its going to fit!!! Im going with the newer 6 series sport 19s but with the same offsets and tire sizes as your above....quick question though, with those size tires do you think a drop is possible? I purchased some Eibach Pro springs (only a 1.2" drop) and just wondering since you have real world experience with this wheel/tire combo if you thougth it would work. Thanks - Josh

Just remember with your current 6series setup, your speedo is not going to be correct. You put a larger diameter tire compared to the stock setup. I guess the good thing is you will put less miles on your odometer.

I have no plans for a drop as I think it may effect ride quality. My car is for comfort and family use, not track days out. I think a small drop would work because there appears to be good clearance in the arches front and back. As to how much a drop...I am no expert. Anyone else care to comment?
