JDN, thanks!..weird i would have thought Dinan to include a cone type of filter there, instead they increased the airbox size by 30%?? and use a free flow filter
... does it have more air entries besides the factory single one?
Yes, there is a large air intake from the brake duct on the opposite side of the car. In my sig picture, you can see the added intake crossover in front at the top of the radiator.
and its weird you feel it above 4k rpms.. maybe because is not a cone and does not have velocity? My car reacts to it as early as 2k rpms..like a little turbo
.. if you can a bit more detail pitures of your intake will be appreciated..
Exactly where I begin to feel it is subjective, you know how that is. It is all happening pretty fast once you floor it so we both could be experiencing the same thing and just describing it differently. What I do know is that once you get to the 6500 rpm, something special has happened.
If the sig picture is not good enough, I will try to get one from a different angle. Let me know.

JDN, and even more weird
..why will Dinan take air from the other side of the car going over the radiator which is HOT and loosing velocity//
need to do my own check under the box to see if there is enough room there to tap into the brake air duct
..maybe this weekend

..maybe this weekendThere is a pretty good difference in filter size. Compare the Dinan filter size to the original charcoal filter I had removed from the first air box.
So that Dinan pipe replaces the stock entry? Interesting thinking
or more like the put a huge airbox and they dont have anymore room to do anything else there..
i think i will add something like a visor in the entrance of the duct behind the front grill for it to collect a bit more air instead os drilling a hole into the box
... your airbox look so simple to make (for Dinan of course) why in gods heaven its taking that long to create one for the 550?
