Mine still rubs with the car loaded.. I can roll the fenders more but I rarly drive the car with people in it, other then one passanger.. like people hve said sport pkg will only give u a little droped looked you will still have a gap.. you can see it in my pics but the reason my front looks like it has a gap is cause its no pushed out enough the wheels I need a bigger spacer in the fron once I get that then the front will look jsut as slamed as the rear.. before I got the fenders rolled my rear fender touch the tire and it was pretty bad so.. but then again I do have the bigest tire for this kinda setup.. 285/30/20 in the rear and 245/35/20 in the front

Not quite the biggest tire Hamann5. I have a 295/25/20 on my rears and 255/30/20 on my fronts. Michelin Pilot Sports A/S. I have not lowered it. I do have the sport package.

I like stiff/compliant suspensions (have driven Porsches for >15 years), and my impression of the 545i w/ sport package is that you have the best of both worlds...very little body roll on twisties, yet very comfortable ride on the straights. What about the suspension do you find too soft?

I'm in complete agreement with you on the "...very little body roll on twisties, yet very comfortable ride on teh straights." I believe that's the result of the ARS at it's finest. However, over bumps and dips, my perception is that the shocks are a little soft so the suspension bottoms out occasionally. Hence the reason my car was rubbing even with only 2 people. Perhaps it's due to the big wheels.
That has been my opinion for some time now but since I've rolled the fenders and have not felt the rubbing....I'm beginning to accept the ride quality and starting to wonder if I really need to add the coilovers. They were supposed to be installed last Wed but things came up and I've rescheduled the install for a couple of weeks. Going out of town tomorrow morning.
Guess I better make up my mind while I'm away.

Not to belabor the point, but...tire and wheel brand and selection does matter.
A 245/40/20 is not a 245/40/20 is not a 245/40/20. The square versus round shoulder design varies by manufacturer and often makes a difference in the visual. Take a look at a Pirelli P Zero versus a Michelin A/S, or Dunlop, and you will see what I mean. In addition, remember that some wheel offsets are more aggressive than others. On these cars, some of the fitments that are shared with the 6 and 7 have more aggressive (pushed farther outward) offsets than say, the factory optional wheels which have more conservative offsets. This also gives the illusion that the fender is "fuller". I didn't say it was, I just said it looked like it

Here's mine with 20s, sports pkg and not lowered. Not sure if it's clear in the pics but there's about a little over an inch gap. My car was rubbing occasionally, even with just 2 people but I just recently got the fenders rolled and it solved the problem. Haven't tried a fully loaded car yet though.

Fender rolling is actually a very common and safe method of alleviating rubbing. No harm is done to the car. The process just curves in the inner lip of the fenders so it's not touch the tires during bumps and dips.
I'm not sure what you mean by backspacing. I have staggered widths...20x9 in the front and 20x10 in the rears. If you mean offsets, I actually don't know what mine are.
Any hint of what you're planning on getting? What color is your car and what finish will your wheels be in? Just curious.
