Here is the one thing ALL of you guys should do with your 14862's. And that would be, powdercoat or paint the muffler and the tips. Looking at the shiny, polished can from the rear looks cheap. It looks like a cheap, aftermarket civic exhaust.

That said, anyone moving forward that's going to do this mod, powdercoat or at least paint (high heat, grill paint works just fine) so you don't see the cheap looking muffler from the rear. Ever notice how the LCI 550's have the darker exhaust tips and cans? Wonder why? It looks MUCH better.

Gregg - You keep yours the way it is, since you're from Bayside. Cheesy is how those people roll.

Here is a picture of my old car, with the 14816. This was taken before I even put on the M-Tech kit, which showed off the muffler itself, even more.

Keeping the tips polished is ok, but the muffler itself should definitely get painted.

You guys are funny!!!!! Anyway I have the 14862 and at first I was a bit unsure about the sound thinking it might be too loud but I def love it now. Looks good and sounds good !! The other thing is that it didn't cost an arm and a leg. As far as losing any torque I can't tell but like greg my gas mileage went up so I'm def not complaining.

I think it looks great and makes it a great eye attraction once someone says- "Holy sh--!!!!! That sounds great. What an awesome driver that guy is...Damn Gregg's car looks hot...Holy, look at that performance muffler... No wonder it sounds so good..."

Hide it by darkening it would be a mistake IMHO.

You're right. BMW made a huge mistake doing that with the 2008 550i's.

In all seriousness, I feel zero difference...the one MAJOR advantage besides sound and looks is that I have picked up 3mpg on avg hwy driving. When I used to get 23.5/24 mpg, I now get 27/28 mpg on Hwy doing 70-85mph and cruising.

That is a definite fact!
Whats the explanation/logic for the increased fuel efficiency? Combustion takes place in the engine so how does changing the muffler help increase your fuel economy???????
