Hey 5ers,

I am hoping someone can shed some light on a problem I?m having. I like I previously stated I have a 2005 530i Sport, and I CANNOT remove any of my (4) 18" 124 wheels with Dunlop run flats. Yes, let me clarify, I cannot take the wheels off the car. (I'm sort of embarrassed having to post for this issue) This is what I've done: E brake, then I loosened the 5 lugs, jacked up the car, and unscrewed the 5 bolts from the wheel and hub. At this moment, I expected the wheel to come free, and I would be able to install my new set of wheels. BUT... this is not the case. The wheel is still solidly attached to the hub.

Question: Did I miss a step, is there secondary locking system for the run flats/124 in addition to the (5) lug screws?
Possibly the wheel is stuck to the hub? Any suggestion to separating the wheel from the hub? What did I miss?

Thanks for looking

The wheel is stuck on the hub -- it's fairly normal for this to happen.

Read the following for some ideas:

yes the wheel is stuck to the hub as it were.

there is nothingt else holding the wheel on, just knock the wheel off, with a hammer, be careful not to hit to hard as it may damage the wheels, but yes this is a common thing, have these wheels been on the car for a long time?

thanks for the replies! I will give it a try when I get back intown. I didn't want to break anything so I didn't put a lot of force into it. I'll update the post when I put my new wheels on.

When you get them off, wire brush the rust off the hubs then use some anti-seize compound on the hubs and wheels -- it will make it easier for next time.
