Artwork huh? Bimmer is the least Artsy of the German brands when it comes to styling and looks, and as far as performance Bimmer isnt top of the line by a long shot. Although I own a E60 it is far from the perfect car, and if you're on this forum everyday as i am you will see hundreds of threads detailing actually how problematic owning one of these cars is. With that said try to keep the "American Made" jabs to yourself!!!(proud american)

Listen man, half of these guys that are telling you not to get the 545i, are the ones with 525s and 530s. They are excellent but like every car they have their own flaws. The N62 motor is one of the oldest engine made by BMW. Just make sure you take your car to a repair shop or a stealer which specializes in german cars. You will enjoy your 4.4 beast, just make sure you don't delay on the oil changes because that is when many problems can occur. Goodluck

Most reliable, probably the 530, but you will regret not buying the 545/550. BTW this forum has many DIY's, my tranny was leaking fluid, my first though was to drop it off at the dealer and just pay the $1100, but then I just did it my self on a Sunday morning. It was the rubber gasket leaking...so I bought new fluid and a rubber gasket for the pan. Ended up paying $175 total...saved a grand!!

From reading above, it seems like you're more into the style of the car than actually caring for the longevity of it. The 545 will eat your wallet alive unless you have a trusted indy mechanic to get things repaired well at a low rate. If you go that route save the money you want to spend on styling for upkeep because you're gonna need it.
