It should hold for everyday use, since i bealive that the engine/turbos are affected by the driving style and less by the mileage. So in a slightly pushed engine, if the driving style is let's say 2000-2500rpm in general, then i don't see the problem (but in a way shit can always happen), and only once or twice a week give it full throttle and sustain it for a couple of hours or so (like in the weekends when traffic is lighter). Of course if you track your car almost weekly than in the long term it can show up problems.
But let's not forget that you are talking
with 311bhp and 690 NM from a 530d...

I heard that the unreliable remap begins with 370+bhp on the 535d. Some say that the unit could deliver 400bhp quite easy but with quite alot of fear for the parts on the long term.

I agree with You! Everything can be destroyed by misusing hardware. I believe You are right that 370hp is a risk limit. Why? Because 272hp plus 40% equals 380hp. That 40% should be engineering marginal in this kind of equipment. But what is the base? Peek when clutch is released or max theoretical power?

Do me a HUGE favor. No more asking diesel owners about their gas mileage. It's really deprressing the hell out of me. I get between 12 & 15 MPG in my 550i. If they start exporting them to the US, you are free to ask all you'd like because I will be first on line.

Even worse for me, as I sold my 535d M-Sport & have replaced it with an M5 that i've now DMS'd. I only get about 200 miles to a tank & on my recent Nurburgring Trip, i averaged 12MPG for the entire trip, however i was playing with a 996 GT3 at speeds well over 180MPH on the Autobahn.
Is it night and day??

How noticeable is the DMS upgrade to the 535d, mine gets (as you put it) breathed on on Tuesday 6th.

Night and day. A new charisma.
Not any more a civilizated companion but a wild soul car
From the very first moment. Even a different sound
Cheers
