For those interested or more importantly, those that have a 525xi/530xi, I thought you would like to know that H&R has a kit currently in R&D (thank god!). I spoke to a gentlemen named Josh Scott at H&R and he confirmed, both on email and phone, that the kit is production and should be available to the public in 4-6 weeks. I am following up with him in 4 weeks, at which point he said he should have a date for availability.
So for all you 530xi owners out there, like myself, hang tight...It's being worked on and should be available soon!
PS - TireRack's site IS a mistake. They say the Coil-Over kit for the 530i will also work for the 530xi, when in fact, they have NOT tried and tested it on this car. I spoke to a sales guy named Ben @ TR who confirmed this with his technician manager...and trust me, he wanted to sell me the kit badly, but warned against it. I also confirmed this with H&R and they said people should NOT buy this kit from TR and to wait for the appropriate kit for the X drive 5. H&R does have a kit for the 330xi, but it's important to know that this kit is much different than the kit for the 330i, hence the reason it's not identical and shouldn't be considered identical for the E60 either.
Hope this helps all those that have been seeking info on lowering their 530xi's to make up for that extra wheel gap. We have a solution in the works, so hang in there!
I'll follow up in a few weeks, when I get an ETA on production.
