I've owned exactly one black car in my life. It was beautiful. But, also hard to keep clean/polished if you're picky, and hotter than hell in the summer. I won't buy another. My last four cars have been white or silver. GL.

My next car will be solid black or a dark, dark metallic blue (the new M-B E coupe),
with a light beige interior.

In the last 10 years I have had 2 black E46 coupe's and a dark blue E39 and a E60 (Mystic Blue),
and two light E60's (Titanium Silver and current Space Grey).

But now I need a fancy looker again, so dark ext it will be.

+1 for Black on Black all the way.

This is my 3rd BoB car and it's always my #1 choice of colour. Like someone said earlier, I buy used mostly (only 3 of the 23 cars I've owned were bought new), but the color is probably the #1 requirement. When I do searches I always specify colour = black, so I never even see any other colour cars for sale.

Then again, I don't care about swirlies or if it's not super-super clean. Five tokens at the do-it-yourself jetwash twice a month is fine for me. Of course if you're going black, you need shadowline and window tint to complete the look

I'm surprised so many are saying they'd choose white next time, implying that it doesn't look so dirty so easily. I've had 3 white cars and found them to be almost as bad as black at showing the dirt. For me, the best colours for managing to still look clean even if they're not, are bright red and light silver.

Not Again..Never Again...
We always had Black Cars- ALL of them. I love my 550 but Too Much pain to keep it clean. My E-60 will be my last Black BMW..I think... I am sure of it . Till the time comes ..LOL

We have a sterling Grey X5 and I love it as it hardly needs cleaning and it ALWAYS looks spectacular....
so that is my last answer..

I have a jet black 530. My first black car. I knew what I was getting into and planned to put the effort in to maintain the car, and I have. I can honestly say there are no swirl marks. Always garaged, washed, and Zaino'd by me. Hands down cannot beat the look of a clean black car. However, I can't stand the look my car when dirty, or even slightly dusty. Well, as you all know, that's like only a few drives later. Cali duster helps, but... my next car won't be black...

I had two black on black BMWs and while I love them, I wouldn't do it again unless I had covered parking during the day as I do now. The heat difference is enormous. it's a major consideration for me down here in Miami. My silver car barely even gets hot when I leave it outside, thanks to the color and the ceramic tint.

but then again- I always buy used- so features/mileage/price always trump color except for a few limitations (I won't do silver/grey or black/beige, no offense against those that have it, just not my personal cup of tea.)

I have a garage thank god, and i have tinted windows. i will suffer in the hot florida sun during the day, but they are building a parking garage where i work, so that will be huge...

anyone know how that self ventalating feature works...

and yes. i would do black again. it is beautiful
