was it a CPO warranty ? did you end up paying any deductible ?

I have a 2004 BMW 525i E60 with over 108,000 miles and my washer fluid pump for the windshield died. I ordered a new windshield and headlight fluid pump (yes, this was probably overkill),as well as replacement grommets and screens for both. I did not have to remove the wheel and was able to replace both pumps and have it up and running in about 20-minutes.

That was a long explanation just to say I made a YouTube video of my exploits. I guess I am finally trying to contribute back to the community from which I have found and employed incredibly useful information.

Best wishes!

I think my reservoir is cracked... The tank won't hold fluid. The pump works and I get stuff on my windshield, but it always leaks out after filling it up... Is there a R/R for the reservoir? I've searched and been unsuccessful so far... I just ordered a new tank from my dealership. No bad price either $70 for the tank. Thanks!

It can leak for more than one reason. On my wife's X5, there are three pumps: front windshield, rear windshield, headlights. One of the pumps was leaking and I had washer fluid showing up under the car. You might want to identify exactly where is the leak before replacing the tank. Don't know about the E60 tank, but the X5 tank would be a serious headache to replace.

I had a similar leak. New grommet [on one of the pumps] fixed the issue. New grommet came with new strainer. It cost me couple of bucks.

Pumps are inserted in to the tank via grommets.
