Anyone experiencing excessive noise from their sun roof when driving on the highway?
My car is going in for a new windshield today and I want to mention sun roof problem to dealer, just don't want them to worsen situation.
Is a bit of noise normal when roof is closed? When sunshade is closed noise is not evident.
Is this a simple adjustment or do they have to take it apart?
Thanks

I have a similiar problem. I wouldn't say the noise is excessive but there's wind noise when the shade is open. If I use my hand to push the roof glass panel up a bit, the noise goes away.
I think the car has this issue from day 1.

I had a similar noise on a previous BMW and they adjusted the sunroof and it went away.

Mine has been doing this for over a year. Had it adjusted, but it didn't help. Notice that it is much louder than my previous E39. Although, with the horrible creaking windows, the sunroof noise is minor in comparison.

Hi gabman:
Now you mention it, mine is a bit noisy too, but nothing to do I suppose but to add
a smoke color $47.00 BMW OEM wind deflector if the noise gets unbearable, but for now I am leaving it alone.

yes, the sunroof does seem exessively niosy, which goes away when closing the sun shade - however sometimes i really lie to drive with the sun/light coming through .. but its too loud. maybe i should call the dealer to inform them of that & add to the list of issues.
i have never tried the pushing up trick ...

My car is is in the shop, I will let you know if they fix it once I get the car back.
Presley 348,
The noise that I am speaking of is when the roof is closed. No offense but,
I would rather have a bird poop on my head when the roof is opened before I would consider putting a wind deflector on my baby. lol
