Will the Sony Walkman MP3 work with the interface?

You are confusing the AUX interface with the ipod interface. They are two different things. The AUX interface is "only" a plug-in for a stereo jack plug (analog) and ipod interface is a digital connection and with that you can browse the ipod through the idrive. That is not possible via the AUX interface because only audio signal is running through it. You can attach any player in to an AUX interface with a stereo cable that has a 3,5mm jack plug.

Sorry, for the confusing I meant to say the USB port. because I tried with my friend Sony MP3 and it would not recognize the player
