My brother is coming over here (UK) from Greece for a touring holiday in his A4 (2005) 2.0 T (FSI) and keeps blagging on about blowing away Merc E200's etc. I am new to my E60 530 D (231) and have told him 80 - 140 MPH, he would be left behind by me. Before I embarras myself (or not), can you guys give me the answer (think his does 7.2 to 60 (mine 6.8)

From any rolling start or speed I don't think you're going to have any trouble at all when you're up and running against this particular Audi. From a standing start it is likely to be closer, but you should be OK here too.
In short - go out and administer some swift and brutal justice, then post back!

0-60 - it's going to be close and if you haver an auto - you are going to need to brake torque.

If you propose to go above 60 - you will kick his arse.

Going to be 80 - 120mph + for the tests. I feel better now. Just need to use the steptronic to make sure I floor it at just the right time

Still cant belive how quick I get to 150

The 200PS 2.0T is not that quick, off the mark it is OK getting to around 60mph in about 8 seconds, but it takes 22 seconds to get to 100mph which is around a second slower than the 530d.
Get a remap before he comes over, this will mean you get to 100 about 5 seconds quicker than him.

What is he has had his remapped though?? 260bhp and 0-100mph around 4 seconds quicker than you!

Try sitting in the back seat of the A4. Now THAT'S embarrasing.

I recently smoked an Audi A4 2.0T quattro. The guy has an ecu remap to somewhere around 240+ bhp (as he said later on) and some exhuasts air filters and stuff. From 0-100 he was slightly better than me due to the excelent and unbeatable launch (even brake torquin') but after 100 i started to catch up and after 140km/h it was game over.
You should have too much trouble with him. Carefull at the launch and at the shift points.

But isn't Cleveland a speed camera and unmarked car hotspot? I got done doing 97mph on the A19 a few years ago (luckly really as I had just clocked the unmarked car gaining on me and so slowed from 125mph )

Where have you found a road in the UK that you can do 150mph on - I want to go there.
