Why does my aironditioning stink?

Here' my story.
Picked up my car in Dec 2003. In June 2003 (11k miles) the stink started. Real bad..... my co-workers didn't even want to drive in my car when we went to lunch.
I made an appointment with my dealer. They "cleaned it" and charged me $140. Thankyou BMW!!! That what I call service.
Anyway, the car had a new stinky smell, that of the "disenfectant" they used, after about 3-4 weeks it started to go away. And guess what, the old stink has slowly started coming back, along with whats left of the disenfectant" odor.
I try running the max AC for 10 min etc. doesn't seem to help and what an inconvience. But I guess I should expect that from a $45K car. Gee, my honda's or VW's never stunk like this. Its come to the point that I don't look forward to driving it.
I think I'll try the Lysol "fix". Can anyone give anymore details?
