08 550 with 49k. 98 740i with 140k. Both are running just fine. BMW engines are great but not maintenance free like Hondas or Toyotas. Keep up the maintenance and don't drive too long with active CEL issues. Be good to your bimmer and it will last forever!

I have just over 170,200. She's always been good to me. Right now I believe my oil pressure sensor is bad. Says low oil pressure then all systems ok. She still sounds and runs as strong as ever.

Just got a 2005 545 with 111,000 kms. I hope it lasts at least half the kms of my 1988 325is (E30), which gave me 22 years and 666,000 kms. Previous 1984 E30 gave 210K kms over 4 years.

As many have said take car of the maintenance (mostly fluids) and you wont have too many problems.
Salut, Bob p.

545I 2005 170200. Has alway ran well. I think she needs an oil sensor and that makes me sad. She will be back tomorrow.

On my previous 2005 530i I had 85k when I traded it in last Saturday.
Now I have a 2008 550i with a tiny 20,537 miles on it, looking forward to adding to that.

106000 on my 2008 535XI. No big issues and will definitely keep it for a few more years.
