I don't think you can fool any e60 owners because we can tell it is an 04 by: 1) model number (new ones are 528, 535 and 550); 2) No PDC for 04 e60; 3) Body looks slightly different between an 04 and an 08.
But of course, for those unfortunate ones who don't own an e60, it is really hard for them to tell. I mean my friend couldn't tell what changes I made to my car after I installed the Mtech kit... LOL

You know, you're right. We get so involved in the little things about our cars that when you show your friend something they just look confused. heh

Oh my god... I'm sorry Rick !! hahahah . I read your name fast and saw "Rice". Anyways, based on your childhood photo I am willing to wager you are between the age of 62-70? Not that its a bad thing...
Well, let's see, if you were 9 in the late 60s, you were probably born in the late 50s or early 60s. I'm guessing you didn't major in math? If you're stilling willing to make a wager on 62-70, I'm in!

In my opinion, what I really enjoy about my e60 is the fact that BMW keeps the styling of their cars for the most part the same for a number of years. Yes they may "tweak" like they have in 2008, but only to us E60 owners are we we going to notice the new taillights or headlights. You could own an Infiniti like I did and all the sudden 3 years later the car looks totally different. All in all BMW makes a "classy" car that will stand the test of time. I myself have an 2004 and plan on keeping it for another 5-6 years, so by the time I get rid of it should be 10 years old, but with my car should still look good as new.

I couldn't agree with you more. The nicest thing so far is that even though they look the same year after year, the enthusiast never fails to modify the car to look so personalized and different from the "average" E60.

Dude, do you drive the car for the people or because you like it?

I'm somewhat....... afraid.

I am afraid that my car, which looks new, will soon look old. You know what I'm talking about guys. I'm that 1st generation E60 owner that has a 2004 car that looks like a brand-new 2008. But eventually, we won't be able to fool people since apparently there is going to be a dramatic body style change in ...... 2010? 2011? Not only that, but what does the future hold for our beloved BMWs? I hope they don't start to look like egg-shaped piles of dog ____ aka .... Lexus.

You have your E60 for one full model cycle aren't you satisfied? There are still many E39 owners driving their 5's and maintaining them just like new cars. I am actually hoping F10 would arrive sooner to keep 5-series's continuation. I love cars with a history of several generations to see how they evolve, look at Porsche 911, Nissan Skyline GTR/GT-R, Ferrari F-series(328,348,355,360,430), BMW 3/M3 and 5/M5, Mazda RX and MX, Honda Accord and Civic, Toyota Corolla and Crown, Lexus LS, Mercedes-Benz S-class and SL-class, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, etc. They are all great vehicles with successful history and hopefully would continue to do so. Every year new car names and models get into the auto market but most of them lack the history of the aforementioned cars. Therefore, I don't mind to see E34, E39, E60 and the upcoming F10 parking together to see how 5 has evolved and revolved.
