I have been considering the Bruce Miranda LCI tail lights retrofit. However, in my attempt not to do any work this morning I came across this

[attachment=65939:2008_20E...20Tailsm.jpg]

http://www.umnitza.com/product_info.php?cP...roducts_id=1155

thet web site says they are Hella lights If anyone has attempted this retrofit option please let us know about it. If not, I may take a stab at it.

Comments???

Wow, GREAT find. I'm gonna have to check these out...LCI looks without the LCI price tag. Hmm......Joe, I wonder if you can work some Group Buy magic with these if they are worthy....

Hella makes the stock tail lights. This would be good news, as they made a retrofit kit for the early E39s to get the LED lights of the later E39s as well. keep in mind this will likely entail some sort of metal box under your spare tire (if it's the same as the E39 retrofit), but anyways, woo-hoo!

I think I spoke to a guy aon ebay selling these - he said they are exactly the same as LCI but the turn signals are not LEDs... I asked him for proper photos (as he used BMW ones) but he never got back to me. I would definitely be interested if I could see pictures of the actual light to understand what they really are

Not to be the bearer of bad news but this has been covered before. The picture is of the LCI OEM lights but the ones you will receive at the Aftermarket LED lights that are all over eBay.

I couldn't bear to get into this either - guys do some search on "lci tail lights" not as simple as you think.

The LCI tail lights can work with either Bruce's cables or the WHOLE LCI retrofit including LCM = $$, been there myself.

If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
