...the friggin' German heavy machinery POS! Went through an automated car wash today (yes, I know I shouldn't have ). Long story short, my repeater on the driver's side was hanging out with its wire out (fixed that boy up for now, but guess there's no substitute for a pair of new ones) and the anti-trap malfunction message from like 7 months ago came back.
Thanks to Anzafin, got the TIS on how to take apart the door to see what's going on. Ironically, I think the reason the anti-trap msg came back is because few days ago I accidentally rolled that window down without noticing a pretty big chunk of bird surprise - which ended up getting partially ingested into the annals of the door... If that's the case, then I'm friggin speechless - seriously! What's next? It'll slip on a banana skin and the wheels will crack? An extra large yellow jacket will fly into the air intake at speed and the engine will seize? so, like I said, when even a little thing goes wrong its like the end of the world with this car... maybe its just me...
so anyone ever have their window mechanism rendered disabled by birdshit or what?

BTW I had it come on about 7 months ago, I used the reset procedure and it went away till today. But today, for some reason I just couldn't reset it - I think there's something in the way of the window that prevents it from operating at the right speed, which triggers the module to throw the error message - I wanna get in there and see if maybe some compressed air would do the job. Hope I don't need a new motor, module and programming...
What procedure did you use to reset? Ignition ON, engine OFF, roll the affected window all the way down, hold the window switch on the affected door down in "express down" position for 25 seconds, release and immediately hold down the switch in "express up" position until window rolls up and down and then back up again? I did that and no help, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing I did 7 mos ago when it first came up...

The cutest thing LOL guess what? tried the reset procedure once again and, as Borat would put it, GREAT SUCCESS! Don't know if its all the manual E60's or just mine, but I actually had to do it with the engine running to get it to reset - not just ignition.
