[quote name='Centurion' date='Sep 18 2005, 01:56 AM']I went to the wheelweights website posted by another forum member and it was suggested that as a general rule of thumb, weight on a wheel/tire combo is equivalent to x2 anywhere else on the car.? For example, if you decrease by 35lbs on all 4 wheels, this is equivalent to decreasing by 70lbs on the body.

Mmmmhh I'll just try to loose 70lbs bodyweight of my own body...

...and keep the $5,000+ USD it would cost you to get lighter wheels in your bank account. I hear ya.

Thanks Centurion. I have been doing searches on the topic. The best I can come up with is to double the saving from lighter tires and to multiply the savings from lighter wheels by 1.5. The reason that wheels account for less saving than tires is that as you move closer to the center of the wheel the less the effect is. So, doubling and multiplying by 1.5 are just approximations--but probably pretty good ones on average.
