I scuffed a rear alloy last week (oem 172's) and after phoning everywhere I have given up trying to find someone who can match the original BMW silver.
Ive had a look around the site and cant find any pics of 172's that have been repainted in a different colour like black or graphite.

Has anyone got pics of 172's in different colours?

What the general consensus paint them silver or try something darker???

Cheers

If anything, I would powder coat them a nice graphite/gunmetal. But it also depends on what color your car is.... cant go wrong with graphite though.

I too have not seen these wheels in any color besides silver, so that might be a good thing for you to try out.

dumb question.......but did you try your local bmw dealer? I had curb rash on 2 wheels when I bought my car. The dealer has a mobil wheel repair guy that comes weekly. He pulled the tires off, filled the curb rashes with alloy, sanded then painted and cleared the repair. Can't even begin to find where the damage was at. Paint matches perfect. Took about 2 hrs.....the dealer ate the cost, so I have no idea how much it cost. If your dealer doesn't have that service...then yeah, I would get them powder coated. Last I checked on getting a set of wheels powder coated, it was 100 bucks a wheel...been several years though
