There was a forum topic earlier about what other cars did u look at before buying your e60.

So now perhaps it would be nice to know what your next car would be? Same e60? Different engine? Diesel? a 7 series? ???

I would get the new model 5 series when it comes out, and i would go for the most powerfull diesel. OR I would go for the upcomimng X6. i always liked the X5 but found that the drop in performance was too big a minus point. If the X6 is a nice cross between the X5 and the 5 series, then I would be tempted.

For me diesel torque is still the ruler !!

7 series is tempting - especially since the future model seems like it will be a winnder with style. But for now its still too big for me.

For me i hope the next M3. If not, i don't think i'm going to go with diesels again. I'm so eager to see the new M3 wich will have what i always wished (a V8, and a high revvy engine)

It willl be the last model year for the E60. Not sure on the engine since I don't know what will be offered yet. But I want to enjoy the best and last E60 for a few years and let the bugs get worked out on the F10.

I have been perplexed about this issue. It's hard to know what I'll think in 2 years. My options go from frugal to less and less frugal.

1--Frugal--New 550i (or whatever it is in 2 years)
................Keep old Z06--adding some good, but easy mods--3.73, intake, dyno tune

2--New AMG E65 or AMG CLS 65
....Keep old Z06--as above

3--New 550i as above
....New M3 or GT-R
....Sell old Z06

4--New 550i as above
....New M3 or GT-R
....Keep old Z06 as above

Love my e60 but thinking of returning to the 3er platform with the new M3. My e60 rekindled my love of free revving V8's and I can't imagine what a 400+ HP will feel like in the e90
