Sorry if this is a repost.? The gas price is sky rocketing now, it will be nice if we konws how many miles we can get for a gallon.? For other countries, how many kilometer per liter.?

I have about 700 miles on my 530i now.? The on-board computer shows 20.6 miles per gallon.? I drive about 70 Highway/30 Local.? Hoping it can reach to 25-30 mpg in the future.? ?

Getting about 38mpg from my 535d with mixed driving and 2000 miles on the clock.
Prashan

PS - on my first tank of diesel (when driving with care and break in restrictions), I got 590 miles from one full tank of diesel.

You don't know how lucky you are. We in the UK pay around ?.92 ($1.64) for petrol (gas) and ?.94 ($1.68) for diesel. Oh and that's per litre!

So, 1 US Gallon costs us ?3.49 ($6.23) for petrol and ?3.56 ($6.36) for a gallon of diesel.

I get 10 L / 100 km when driving 50 % town and 50 % bigger roads...

I just came back from a 250 km trip, and the journey computer said:

Average speed: 130.6 km/t
Average comsumption: 6,9 L/100 km

Thats NICE!

$ 4 / gallon :thumbsdown: 1 euro = $ 1,25 and 1 gallon = 3,78 litres.

So 1 gallon would cost ? 4,73 which is about ? 1,25 / litre.

We Europeans pay now ? 1,30 - 1,40 / litre (about $ 5,20 / gallon).

1 mile = 1,6 km

So if your car uses a avarege of 10 litres / 100 km, that is about 26,3 miles/gallon.

Luckily we drive good milage BMW's

But do notice that the iDrive gives better values than the real life.
Check this with the tripmeter and and gaspump!
I'm getting 26-28mpg (50/50 Hwy/City) and about 430miles per tank.? 16,200mi on 04 530i.? Also, in order to save money at the pump (and as a test) I've been rotating between Reg 87min octane and Midgrade 89min octane.? No noticeable difference in mileage.? Why should I use the expensive stuff 91min octane?

Read past post on the subject of octane ratings, you will see that if you keep on with 87 and 89 octane it will take its toll on the engine.(you might have to change you handel from wiseman to something else) only joking.
cheers

Its safe to use 89 octane but the cars computer will decrease the performance of the engine to ward off detonation. So if decreased performance is OK, then enjoy. If your engine pings under load or if it is experiencing run-on then switch to a higher octane.

The latest news I'm seeing is that legislature may be enacted that allows the final refining process to be skipped for a brief period until adequate capacity can be cobbled back together. That should be popular with the environmentalists... (not)

No joke, I just saw a gas station (Mobile) in my area that is charging $3.75 per gallon for 91 octane.
