I love the new car (second day), but I was disappointed that the standard sound system has no more adjustment than the balance/fade/tone settings like they had 30 years ago. A car this nice should have some equalizer or multiple tone menu or something.
I also can't find a good place to store a few CDs.
Nicest car I've ever seen though!

Has anyone gotten Ventilated seats as a priority option in the US?

TV, Active Seats, Vented Seats.

There were no more on the option list!

You have to stop somewhere? Regret not having these options anyway!!

the upgraded system has an equalizer. i don't know why they just didn't make that standard. also, i don't think you can set different bass/tre settings for each source. most cheap systems have this. some let you name them...such as "Jazz", "Speech",...

advanced auto AC
(which i would have ordered had anyone mentioned that the standard auto AC was not really auto)

and
prof Nav with TMC
(which i would have ordered if i had been told that the business Nav with TMC does not really have TMC) - TMC was a KEY factor in a nav system for the UK: there are a large amount of decent alternate routes (a huge amount compared to anywhere i've ever lived before) available here

otherwise, active cruise would have been nice
as would have been a 3l diesel engine although i am more happy with the 2.2l than you might expect

I am really wondering about the missing TMC on bus nav in the UK. I drove loaners from my dealer who had the bus nav AND TMC.
What the heck... ?

ACC is really cool. I wasn't sure if I like it or not, but after driving 3000 Km's I don't want to miss it. It is also a safety feature, since the radar can see better then the driver in fog or snow conditions.

I got all the options on my US-spec 545 except for active cruise (I never use regular cruise) and comfort seats (a really, really stupid mistake).

On the E39, comfort seats weren't as firm or as bolstered as the sport seats. On the E60, they've got everything the sports seats have, plus a bunch of other goodies. But the thing that's most important, is that the comfort seats have tiltable headrests like all the BMW seats used to have. Those headrests are a HUGE loss on the E60's regular and sport seats.
