Yesterday we got some very heavy rain storms on my way home from work and I was thinking about how I'd really like to be able to see radar scans of rainstorms in the area for where I'm heading in the car.

With all the antennas in the shark fin, especially the BMW Assist connection via the cellular phone system, it seems like a possible next step would be to subscribe to a monthly service of having certain web sites like weather sites that have radar for rain, etc to be able to be displayed on the iDrive screen. Maybe a new division of the iDrive menu that allows web access as is possible to do on small devices like pocketPC with browsers. Certain web sites could be programmed in ahead of time and the viewed from a list with data downloaded as onto other wireless devices.

Has anyone else been thinking of these ideas or other ones?

It has nothing to do with BMW Individual. And if you take nav pro (the one you get in the US) you'll get it automatically (in Germany).
