I have an ongoing problem with water ingress in the rear passenger footwell.

I have removed the door card and resealed the inner liner as shown in the photos. Water it still finding its way inside to the rear footwell.
Is there anything I am missing with sealing the inner door liners from the photo's below? The drain at the lower part of the door is clear, i have tested this.

I am also wondering if i should be checking another point on the car for the water ingress.




My car is a 2005 523i RHD manual saloon, there is no sunroof on the car.

Any help, advise or recommendations are much appreciated.

 

Thoroughly dry the area in question and then lay down white sheets of paper to track down the ingress path. Or purchase a moisture meter.

 

Worth checking out, this happened to me.

Different vehicle but same problem. My water issue was from the heater vent draining under the front seat.

Dealer did some warranty work on the car and clogged the evaporator drain hole. Every time I went around a corner, dumped water in to the rear passenger footwell. Took quite a while to figure it out.

also possible it is coming from the trunk area.
