Yea I was very happy when the car turned over and didn't throw codes. I just hope the codes got stored so the dealer can see them since the error codes never came back after that night.

Picked up the car from the dealer today. They said the battery was at fault so they hooked it up to a charger. I don't know... I mean my power steering went out, this had to the alternator right? Well, we'll see how it goes in the future.

sounds like an alternator problem to me. the alt. will drain the battery, but sounds like your battery was good. car started after the movie.

to me, it is an open/shut alternator fault. if it were my car and NOT under warranty, i would have bought an alternator and replaces no ?'s asked.

Well my CPO is still active for 1.5 years so if the alternator does decide to retire then I will just get it replaced. Worst that can happen is that I have to pull over I guess...

I have 51k miles on my 05 545. I hope I don't get stranded with a bad battery or alternator... In the old days I would just replace the battery after 4 years in any car but not at BMW prices.

I had my AC compressor replaced at 27k miles...

I was expecting the alternator to bust at around 70k miles.... I don't even know if my alternator is busted or not...

How much do the batteries cost at your dealer? Mine charges about $315.

Thats how much it cost me as well for the battery. Are you really parting your car out to sell?
If so, dibbs on your front bumper/lip, whatever etc.
