Weird RDS issue

I did think it was a reception issue too, except that I had a 2006 330i as a loaner and the RDS worked fine for all radio stations. Unless they also improved the antenna gain in the 2006 model??!!
Also, one of the radio station's is less than 6 miles from my home and broadcasts in digital. All I get is the call sign for this station (not even the station name).
