I just got my software updated last week to 19.02.03. I now have RDS.

I am always in the presets screen. All my radio station names are listed (and not the frequency). Only one station seems to have the artist and song title display. Rest of them only show the station names. I know the other stations also broadcast the artish and song title.

Has anyone else experienced this?? I have tried turning RDS off, turning the car off and back on. Turn RDS on again, but same thing.

For those in the Chicago area: WDRV (97.1FM) The Drive i get the complete RDS info (station name: "The Drive", Artist and title). For WLUP (97.9FM) The Loop, I only get "The Loop" in the display.

Anybody know how to fix this??

This sort of issue has been occuring since at least 19.01.01. I suspect the fix will be in a new CIP. I imagine the only possible fix for now would be to have the software loaded again, but I doubt you would end up better off. Hopefully, you did not also lose BT, or affect it negatively, with 19.02.03.

Bluetooth works just fine.

Hmmm. I do not have RDS on my new 550. :(

JStraw - where in the menu do you turn RDS on/off?

In Entertainment settings, click on any station. You will see options for RDS, Tone, Set. (I think there's one more option there I can't remember)

OK, then I don't have it. All I see is Play, Tone, and Set. It's interesting that you have the newest software and yet my 8 week old 550 apparently does not have them same.

That's good; some have had BT problems after 19.02.03.

When I picked the car up, I couldn't get my phone to pair, even after disabling and enabling bluetooth. (The bluetooth was enabled when I picked up my car). I had to diable Bluetooth, shut the car off, start the car, enable bluetooth, and then go through the pairing process again (setting a passcode etc..).

Yes, I had to do pretty much the same thing when updated to 19.01.01. And, adding to what I said earlier, I have some of the RDS issues you have. I get songs and artists, but some of the stations are shown weirdly. Sometimes they are shown by name, and other times by call letters. But, whatever. And, at least I have what I want set.

I am pretty forgiving of software. My feelings are that the BMW software engineers have is together a little less well than, say, Apple or Microsoft. Still, I never deal with significant software and not expect issues. Ambitions and the rush to market often outstrip performance.

I had RDS on my oldsmobile and my wife has it on her Ford and I have it on my BMW and here are my findings.
I get similar readouts to what has been expressed - sometimes station only, sometimes song - sometimes title, sometimes part of a name, etc.
This happened on both of the old cars and continues on the BMW. I think it depends upon recpetion more than software.
BMW's RDS is on par with the others I have used.
So at least if it is a software issue then we are no worse off than GM or Ford.
