Weight difference between 335i and 535i...

Titanium Silver Metallic, Black Dakota Leather, Dark Poplar Trim, Steptronic, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, Bluetooth, Adaptive Control Xenons. 10/30/07 Added OEM 124s with 245/40/18 & 275/35/18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. It's right up there with making sure you do not have that heavy ass brake dust all over your wheels!!!

3594-3660 = -66 lbs manual
3605-3703 = -98 lbs auto
The 5 series has an aluminum front end. The 3-series is steel. An easy way to dump weight in the E60 is to remove the spare tire and jack.

My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i, Titanium Silver. Bridgestone 760s on Weds Bavaria II 18" wheels, standard sport pack size. Sport, AT. Latest job - NGK Iridium IX plugs installed.
Ditch those runflats and go with BBS wheels and any NRFT, you could be lighter than a 335 Step. This is all moot if you're bigger than your friend, of course.
While the weights maybe similar, there's a big difference in feel between a 3 and a 5.
