hi

i don't know how this has happened, it may have happened due to the weather or more than likely when i washed her (525dmsport) last week using a power washer. the question is how can i get rid of the water, i'd rather not take the headlamp out and start messing with it, but if i leave the full beems on say for a hour or two will the vapour evaporate?

the other day it was fully covered with the vapour, but it seems to be getting better, a little a day.

will this cause any damage to the xenon?

member dandle had a similar issue, so have a few other members...all took the car to the dealer and had the headlight unit replaced (under warranty).

looked at the thread above but doesnt really help as they all got them replaced from bmw warranty. i need another solution as i dont have warranty anymore.HELP ANYONE LOL

 

the seal is no longer "vacuum" tight... this will be forever a reoccuring issue. you will have to replace the unit

 

+1, perhaps you could try and find one on ebay....

 

I'm not sure they were vacuum sealed in the first place... many have had condensation in the headlights but not to that extent.

Since you're out of warranty already, I'd give it a few days to let it clear up on its own before doling out $$ for a replacement set. If the problem appears to linger longer than expected then I'd consider replacing it.
