So My car has 18 months left on warranty or 10,000 miles. I drive about 30,000 miles per year. I just called to get warranty extended and I was told it will be 2300 to extend maintenance and 3500 to extend warranty...5,500 for both... Are they crazy? Is there a more affordable warranty service out there that will offer the type of protection I need in the event of a major malfunction or electrical issue? I am not opposed to a deductible but I need it to be bmw friendly...The kind that you can drop off at the dealer and they fix it the right way without hassle from bmw or the warranty company...Also, does someone have a contact at a bmw dealership that is willing to sell the bmw plan for cheaper.? I think it would be worth 2k.

other than rotors, brake pads and oil change what else does maintenance cover that I should be glad I do not have to pay for?

If I had to replace rotors and brake pads, can't I just buy them aftermarket and have a local indy shop install them or is there some super special bmw only thing that goes on with them?

I have a really good indy mechanic and I think if I just go with extended warranty and not the maintenance that would be the best option. They are so damn expensive
