Wow...so many response for a stupid knob.
But since you asked, I did notice that the knob was ugly the first time I sat inside the car. I believe they are the same knob as in my old E46 3 series. But this one on the E60 looks a little funny sticking out by itself next to the CD slot. It looks a lot better on the E46 because it blended in with an actual radio component.

Let's hope this knob thing does NOT get the attention of BMWs software guys, else we may get an iDrive solution I suppose it looks a little unbalanced but I do not mind the look and feel overall.
