Volume Control Problem

My Ride: Carbon Black 545i
This has been a problem for awhile.
My volume control button doesn't work anymore (not the one on the steering wheel)
it can only turn on and off, but i can't turn the volume up or down.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Anyway to fix this? The dealer has my car right now but asking for $350+ just to fix it (I'm on my extended warranty btw)
What are my options.

When I dropped off my car I spoke w/ my SA about volume control problem. He told me that the extended warranty only covers mechanical malfunctions.
I thought that ext. warranty was the same as stock but all I do is pay a deductible.
Is the dealer screwing me
