My Ride: 2006 530d, Silver, Pro Sat Nav, Logic 7, 6CD, Black Dakota Memory Seats with heating, Adaptive Xenons, Active Steering with Sports steering wheel, Oscillating Seats, Rear Electric Blind, Rear side blinds, Rear airbags, Dark Popular High Gloss, Folding Auto Dimming Mirrors, High Gloss Shadowline,
Ive just (last night) bought a 530d (2006) and it is immaculate, loads of extras, and drives like a dream,
I Love it.
Couple of gripes though I cant get the voice activation to work at all.
Handbook says push button then icon appears on idrive in corner, but this is not happening
What am I doing wrong?

I have voice activation (right name?) on my 2005 530 and have not set it up. How hard is it ??? Given my rim saga with the A/C controls I'd like to setup voice for at least the very frequently used functions.

My Ride: 2004 March E60 530i, Titanium Silver with Black Dakota Leather, Style 124 18" Alloy, Active Steering, Adaptive headlights, Auto-Dim Int+Folding Ext Mirrors, Auto Aircon Advanced, Brushed Aluminium Trim, CD Changer, Comfort Seats, De-Chrome, Dynamic Drive, Electric Glass Sun Roof, Graduate Tinted Windscreen, Heated Front Seats, Natvigation Professional, Sport Steering wheel, Sun Protection Glass, TV function
In the UK, Voice activation is included in the media pack for LCI models. For previous models, you should have that feature if you have a slit menu button under the idrive knob. If you want to retrofit it, it can be done at the dealer but they will charge you for the activation code for this software around ?200 and plus the parts around ?50 and 2 hours labour for another ?200. Which is a complete rip off I think.
