The dealer also questioned if voice command will be included in the package of Bluetooth as it seems that I was one of the "lucky" pilot users of the first version of bluetooth voice command. I really liked it!
I will certainly switch to English.......did you have to pay for it, can you change the language via iDrive or does the dealer fix this? Next week friday I will know, my new E60 will be delivered then...
I think voice commands for bluetooth prepared phones are standard.
I too was told by my delaer that it was not possible to go from german to english, but after reading this forum I was able to set them straigh and they finaly found out how to do it. I had to pay them for 2 hours of works, though. On the next car they will probably use 5 mins.
Do you have any idea on how they did it? I was told that I had to buy a new voice control unit to get english commands.
Before this will be fixed I really wolud like to have a complete list of german commands. The english list is on 13 pages and I would like a similar one in german. -Anyone?
Hi all,
This is my first post so I hope it is OK. I would also like to know how to convert from German to English. I have tried 2 dealers here in Germany but both have failed. I have a full set of German manual so can copy them if you want. Not sure how to get them to you though. Any ideas.

Maybe you can scan the sides that includes the commands or take a picture of them. Then you can post them here or send them to me by e-mail.

I forget sometimes that the voice command is German and I use English.? Drives the system crazy!
Just like Clint Eastwood in Firefox while he is flying the Russian jet and voice command is in Russian and he uses English and almost gets waxed!?
That?s exactly what they told me! ...quoting me a cost of about kr 20.000! I then told them that I had a friend who had this done in five minutes at another dealer (a little white lie), and they replied something like "oh, they must have an update then....it was not possible before."
Atle
ps: By the way. When was your car built? Mine is 11/03. If it is earlier than this, there might not be a fix for it. If it is later, it?s definitively doable by software.

Mine is built 0704 and its going in for an upgrade on the comming tuesday. I will take this up with the dealer then and see whats happens. I have Nav Pro and I can control "everything" in the I-Drive with the voice control function. But so far in german. Anyway its really extends the use of the I-Drive.
