I wonder if it is possible for BMW to add Windows up and down to the voice recogntion? Just another lazy feature they could add.

But they'd have to exclude the voices of children if you activated the child lockout!

But there is no "voice" button in the rear, so the kids would still be safe...

But... when you say windows down... maybe the idrive (based on windows) will crash...

Sorry guys, I couldn't resist...

wind noise would prevent any voice instructions. however, a single button or function would be nice to have all windows and the sunroof to close.

Actually the wind noise is no problem at all when not going too fast.
I've tried it (on 60Km/h = 37.5 mph) and it worked without a problem.

All kidding aside, I've been thinking for some time about something similar.

I think BMW should allow us to program macros to perform multiple tasks based on one command. (They could be saved on a steering wheel button or an iDrive command.) It really wouldn't take much additional engineering or design work to pull this off.

The first macro I'd program would be something I'd press just before pulling into my garage. It would automatically activate PDC, close the sunroof, and close each window. Optionally, it could unlock the doors, mute the stereo (or change the source to radio to "pause" the CD), etc.

What macros would you program?

Open the garage door, turn the radio to the first preset and volume to a low setting, activate PDC, close windows and roof, return environmental to a neutral setting.

(and since I'm dreaming, my macro could also wipe down the car, clean off the break dust, and kiss me on the forehead before I go in the house to greet my family)

Forehead? Since we're dreaming, I could think of some other body parts that it could "kiss".

I love my car, too, but not quite THAT much! OMG. Don't think I'd want that Aux fan coming on unexpectedly. Will stop here.
