I'm curious to learn what other features the voice command can control. I mainly use it for bluetooth phone calls but that's about it? I know there is a list somewhere on the forum with a lenghthy list of commands but just wanted to get some quick input on any other ways it is used with your daily driving.

I have only just had it fitted to my car and at the moment I am trying to remember the prompts, I printed the list off today there are 13 pages!!!

its at http://www.e60.net/information/E60_Voice_Commands.pdf .

Mainly using it for :

CD, Radio, Navigation , Phone and Heating but you could talk to her all day if you really wanted to.

So you're using it for all the top-level iDrive categories then! Personally I can't get on with the phone interface and the climate control takes care of itself.

I say "Map", "FM Menu, Station 2" and "CD Menu" - that's about it.

Incidentally, I may have mentioned this before but the online manual on this site is 80% not applicable to (ie not recognised by) the current e60 implementation (perhaps it's a 7 Series manual).

The better list of voice commands (and MUCH shorter) is in your Driver's Manual.

Yes, I agree having read the 13 pages there are some good extras but the manual is more succinct and easier to remember.

It's worse than that.

The "extras" don't work.

It might be that I have a 2005 car and manual but there a number of commands not covered in the book that are available through the voice control and that are covered in that tome document.

So you've been busy today then!

I quickly gave up because I wasn't finding any extras in the online document when I tried.

Just yesterday I discovered that you can completely enter a navigation destination with the use of voice commands. I didnt expect it to be able to enter cstate, city, street etc. I guess it was because when I use it for my bluetooth phone, it rarely recognizes the names I am saying.
