In my opinion, your issues are software related. Just be persistent and patient with the dealer and you will be enjoying your car in no time. Its a shame these issues were not taken car off before you bought the car, but as rudy said it could just have been one thing the dealer did that triggered all the rest.

I would say so also.

Just love your avatar katheikia

That's exatly where the idea for the BMW-logo came from.

BMW used to manufacture airplanes, ie in WW1 and 2 for the Luftwaffe.

I like to add something........you pay good money to own a BMW....but again what is the dealers responsibilty in all this.....do they not advertised 100% certified .........It certainly doesn't seem that way. Thats my .02c. I hope it works out to your benefit and the dealer completly resolves the problems. Good luck.

Question

I will be very hesitant to buy a used/Certified car unless it was in my family/very close buddy/friend and I know well the car too.
Nobody will sell the luxury /expensive car unless they have a very genuine reason ( problem/big shot/ financial /car lover etc).
I have read that so many drivers lease/own the cars and do not follow the basics/manual/ guidelines/modfy the cars mechanics, electronics, power etc.
One should love his car and treat like a family member, especially BMW-MB and so on..

not applicable, even in the U.S.
Are you suggesting that a used car buyer can't take advantage of lemon laws? If so, that isn't true, at least here in California.

The SIB concerning the rattling or ticking AC compressor is SIB 641406.
It does apply to your car. You can view it at the address bellow.

Sorry to hear about the problems. I'm going through some issues with the 04 525i that I recently bought. It's still under warranty but I already had it in for the pass. air bag light and for a door locking issue. When you turn off the engine, you cannot lock the doors with the remote or even manually until the car goes to sleep, it still thinks the keys are in the ingnition..WTF!!!!! I'm taking it in for that tomorrow. My wife had it out yesterday and she said some electrical warning came up on the iDrive, but it went away after the car was turned off and restarted.

I told her that we should have got an 03' 5 series with less electrical crap on it...now I think she may be thinking the same thing. I love the car...the way it looks/drives...but I'm sorry to say that if the problems continue past the factory warranty...it's gone.
