Try This, Push and hold the I drive knob for at least 6 seconds, then release, turn 3 clicks clockwise, 3 clicks counter clockwise, then one click clockwise, one click counter clockwise, and finally one click clockwise. Then Push the I drive knob and behold .... I wouldn't try to change anything but at the end of one of the menus it will tell you your software version.
Hello pbarch1,

Could you tell me under which heading it it listed under. is it inder VersionKrontolle??

Cheers,

Kiran.

OK, has everybody been able to find their software version somehow?

I tried the trip reset button for 10 seconds trick and the iDrive combination lock trick and got nothing. I am not going to review all the posts just find out who did and didn't succede to see the software version number.
My 530i is 3 weeks old with nav and hud but no phone. Only probs with seat memory and steering wheel rise for exit ease which I fixed by using the other key!

My dealer told me "Early May" today. He also said that he may have it some time this week. We'll see...

3 counter cw
1 cw
1 ccw
press controller once

555- Thanks. That is about what my dealer said as well. BMWNA for some reason paints a different story.

sg530- How exactly did you fix the seat memory by using the other key. What exact steps did you follow. I am having a problem, now after the upgrade, that I need to hit the unlock button twice to get the seat to move into the correct position. Where as before, I only had to hit the button once. It seems to be a "sleep mode" related problem like the CD player not returning to correct cd track and place once car is off. Dealer has said the next, version 12, should fix the seats back and will be addressing the CD player as well. So all in all, version 12 should be fixing "sleep mode" problems.

Question

Hey All

I read from another thread that this IDrive is windows CE based?? It that true? If true, then god bless us, we're gonna have bugs til the day our cars die.

Btw, still hate the whole IDrive thing, prefer the controls on my old E38

Same for me. Found the hidden menu, but had problems finding the SW version. It says 11.1 in alot of places, but 11.1 is included in other combinations of numbers. You could not tell that it?s talking about SW version?
