Took 3 days due to a bad phone module but now have the voice command, nav system, cpt 9000 phone system all working properly. This took a lot of extra effort by the dealer and also BMWNA.

Did they tell you the version or did you check yourself, last time I was in the garage the dealer told me I had 10.2

I have v. 10.2 , please tell me what are the most obvious changes between the two.
Do mp3 cd's work?

After the software was loaded and everything was fixed and operating I asked the service manager - (who Ive gotten to know quite well over the 3 days he was trying to get my car to run), what the version of software was - He stated it was 11 and was also supposed to work on 7 series also. They reloaded all the modules in my car - supposedly 40 of them and the initial programming estimate was 13 + hours. I havn't tried MP3s since getting the car back, but the phone now works very well and the nav system boots up much faster. The voice activation system controls most of the functions of the idrive. You just ask for options on each screen and it plays them out for you.
