Never...I don't even like it when the SA drives it off when I take it to the dealer

First off, I think za3879 pilfering is morally irreprehensible. When I wAs 16yo I worked as a valet and did from time to time took the long way to park. I was young and had Porsche posters on my wall. Needless to say when a 911 pulled up, I took it for a test drive. I know it wasn't the professional thing to do, but Porsche fever got the best of me.

About 20 years ago I was a valet at a high end restaurant in SF. Never trust valets if the lot where they will park your car is not visible to you. Guys would race cars, smoke in cars and pretty much treat them like rentals. Special requests like "Can you park it away from other cars?" usually went unanswered and generally led to additional punishment. If the lot is next to the venue, you're probably okay to leave it with the valets.

I actually was a valet when I was 16 years old at my local country club...I can honestly say that I never stole anything, never took a car for a joy ride, and never messed a car up. I did stall out a Porsche...that was about it. So, I think some places are safe to valet, some are not. Just use your judgment.

And one more thing, if you tip upfront, that is very helpful. And dont tip $2-3, $5 goes a long way with valet.

I used to valet at a nice restraunt and being a bimmer guy I once asked a guy in a E39 M5 if I could get on it and he said have at it. I think he enjoyed hearing that motor scream. Never stole a thing, we averaged about 250 a night.

Came back from my conference and I got my car from the valet service absolutely mint and with nothing missing. If I help only one kid develop the love for BMWs by just taking my car for a joyride, then my job is done.
BTW, I won an iPod Shuffle and a solar backpack at the conference. Today is my lucky day.

I don't valet. There was this one time I had to and they left 3 sets of keys in my car (someone else's keys!) and an empty soda bottle...
