NEVER... I'm not scared that they will steal anything or take the car out for a joyride, but the idea of someone else driving my car just bothers me lol
I have my eyes GLUED at my cars at all times even when the porter drives it into the shop or into the back... and if I'm waiting on it, I try to see if I can watch from the outside. That's how ridiculous, and very meticulous I am with ANY of my cars! lol

I never valet myself but my buddy used to work in a parking garage in Chinatown and we would take the cars inside the parking garage out for a nice ride. 911 turbos, S55, 760, M3s, u name it. That's why I REFUSE to park in ANY valet parking lots. If I must, I tip the guy and make sure he leaves it in the front spots and I take my keys. Thank god there's the automatic car park now in Chinatown. But I usually dont park in lots anyway. I'd rather park on the street

If my only choice is to valet...I will leave. I dont even like the guys at the dealership driving my car...it's a 6-speed and they struggle everytime.

I worked as a valet here in NYC for one day many years ago and the reason I did for only one night was that I refused to steal, so it ended up being a terribly low-paying job in my case. I did however rip a few cars that night - I was 17 or 18 at the time, couldn't help myself. I myself didn't rip any cars badly though - no clutch smell, no burning rubber, not a scratch - I'm super-respectful to cars, any and all cars. But other guys...
Let me just put it this way: I am NEVER EVER going to valet my car, unless it is a rental.
LOL I'm like that too
Yeah, I don't mean to Kanye West this thread, but what is up with dealership employees not knowing how to drive a stick?!
IMHO it should be part of the friggin' job application - you don't drive a stick - go work at a Huyndai dealership or something, ya know...

It was late and dark when I picked up my car (didn't see it till next day), but most policies say you have to inspect your car BEFORE leaving. After you leave, they are no longer liable.
For years I refused to valet park. Then one time I took my family out to dinner for a special occasion and gave in. Big mistake. When we left and the guy (a real slow witted surfer dude) brought my car back and I tipped him, he explained he had damaged the rear bumper with someone elses car. The owner paid for the repairs, but it was a huge hassle and time consuming to get it fixed. NEVER AGAIN! It makes absolutley no sense to entrust something as valuable as a car (let alone an expensive BMW) with complete strangers that are usually a bit on the shady side.
i have in the past, but a friend had a lot of items stolen from her car from the valet that park it every day. She thought she was safe because she sees them every day and tips. So, i havnt in a very long time.
