OK, my first problem with the vehicle. I went to a function with the wife last night and was forced to use valet parking. So I gave up the car with the valet key, and of course it was delivered back to me the same way (with no dings or dents, thank God!).

When I tried to dial up my radio stations, all I saw was a bunch of 87.7s on the FM dial, 530s on the AM dial, and the bogus factory presets on the Sirius dial. WTF? I think, and mutter under my breath that the attendants must be a bunch of d!ckheads to reset my system like that. Then, after dealing with my wife chastising me for calling the attendants names, I realize that the key memory isn't available to me with the valet key; must just be that all presets are a function of the specific key being used, right? So I go to sleep without concerns.

When I drove the car this morning, with my own key, I STILL had none of my presets; they have all been erased. Was this caused by the valet key use? Has anyone else had this problem? I have now reset my stations and hope I don't lose them again.

So your car was open with the valet key...

When you arrived home, did you close the car with the remote? If so, you probably stored the current settings (ie. default settings) replacing your "customixed" settings...

JMB is right -- I think all you needed to do was lock and unlock the car with your key and the settings would have been restored...

I totaly agree, happened to me too. It is not about with what key you start the car, but with what key you atually unlock/lock the car

I use my valet key all the time....I go running, and take the valey key, not the fob. When I get back, I have to open the car with the valet key, but if I don't lock, then unluck with my key/fob, then you get all the default settings.

You are all correct. When I got home last night, I did not lock the car (didn't have to; was in the garage).

Today, after both locking and unlocking the car with the regular key, all settings were restored (overriding, by the way, the new settings I input before locking the car!).
