Default 07 530i 85k miles, won't start

Hi guys, I am trying to sell my car to my friend, but somehow the car does not start.

It was fine last night, but when I plug the key, only Upper dash board (time and blank date) shows, and the navigation suddenly powers off. Nothing happens when I push the start button.

Door locks and unlocks fine. So I checked the battery voltage, it reads 12v which seems

find, but it drops to 11.8 when I insert the key. (Nav and other lights wont light up)...

I am heading to Italy this Sunday, so I need the car ASAP. Does anyone had similar problem?

I'm probably going to tow the car to the dealer....lol....which will cost a lot.

I changed the OEM batter from the dealer about 1.5 years ago...I hopefully it won't cost like $2000...

At 12.0v battery at rest its toast. If it is a BMW battery less than two years old, it should be a warranty item.

Or just hook up a battery charger to fully charger the battery, sounds like you let the car sit for a while. Then just take it to o'Rielly or pep boys to have them load test the battery to ensure its okay.

IMHO this is not a good idea, and rarely ends well for either party.

You're selling an 8-9 year-old-car that requires expensive maintenance and parts to a friend, and the first thing that happens is the battery (or something else) has gone out. This does not bode well.

I took out the IBS cable, and works normal. It wasn't the battery issue, but IBS sensor. The dealer quoted $800 for all the jobs...

I do not want to sell my car with any issue, so I already changed most of maintenance parts, and this issue came out right before selling which is lucky for both of us.

My friend really want to purchase my car since I really well maintained

I even told my friend that my car has a rear right side accident, but no airbag deployed.

My car is second owner also...I just hope nothing happens after he signs my title.

Thanks for the help guys!
